Trends With Tricia: City of Lewisville Moves To Once-A-Week Recycling

City of Lewisville Moves To Once-A-Week Recycling

Recycle Image

A friend of mine posted on Facebook that it's the little things that make her happy.

This time, it's that the city of Lewisville is moving to once-a-week recycling instead of every two weeks.  Starting the week of April 4, you can start putting your recycling bin by the curb with your regular trash.  You are still bound by the list of acceptable items but now you can start getting more aggressive with your glass and aluminum!

Check out the City of Lewisville website for the schedule.

Wow, that sounds like more people are recycling.  Every little bit helps.

That is great news!  Here in Reading, PA there is still not a good recycling program.  My wife and I take it upon ourselves to do the responsible thing.

I can't believe that they were at twice a month!  Our city used to give us 50 "blue bags" for the year.  Not even enough for one a year.  Two years ago, they gave us a large trash can and we fill that sucker to the brim every week and then some.  I hope you get to see some headway made in your areas!

Hi Tricia,

We have had once a week recycling here in Southeastern PA for as long as I can remember.  But any change is good and it is the small changes that can make us happy because it leads to bigger change.
